KSPACE
EVENT REPORT:
EBAN LEHRER / EAST VALLEY ARTISTS [EVA]
(9/10/99)
Michael Grodsky & Jeannie Novak
Kspace staff member Michael Grodsky attended
the East Valley Artists (EVA) Opening Reception -- featuring works by
Kspace artist Eban Lehrer and other members of EVA. The reception was
held at the studio of Chris Naylor, one of the artists who
participated in the event. The East Valley Artists organization was
founded in July 1998 by artist Bob Inman to promote artists
living in and around the East Valley area of Los Angeles, CA. When
asked what's behind his art, which some would term as
"erotica," Eban Lehrer stated: "Why in the culture of
the US is violence accepted? That's okay -- but if a woman's breasts
are bared on television, that's one of the most heinous things there
is . . . The female form is the epitome of beauty to me."
