| TOM JONES SWINGS THE LEAD ON THE INTERNET
LOS ANGELES, CA - Tom Jones, the world-renowned performer, begins showcasing his work today on the Internet through Kaleidospace. During the next few months, fans worldwide will be able to log onto the Kaleidospace web site at http://kspace.com/jones and choose from a complete set of audio clips from his album, The Lead And How To Swing It (Interscope), as well as video interviews. A biography, discography, concert schedule and email address for contacting Jones round out his presence on Kaleidospace. Tom Jones is an exceptional entertainer whose soulful pop renditions have garnered critical and popular acclaim for a quarter-century. His secret to success is his relentless commitment to pop authenticity, and the seemingly effortless drama and energy in his performance. His stunning vocal, described by the Los Angeles Times as "an extended scream that's both bloodcurdling and, of course, sex personified") allow him to re-invent the music he performs with a style uniquely his own. Jones is supported in his efforts by an astonishing array of talent. On The Lead And How To Swing It, he collaborates with Flood (U2, nine inch nails, Depeche Mode), Trevor Horn (Wendy and Lisa, Seal, Art of Noise, Frankie Goes to Hollywood), Teddy Riley (Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, BLACKstreet), The Wolfgang Press, Richard Perry (Carly Simon, Barbra Streisand, The Pointer Sisters), Youth (Killing Joke, Crowded House), and Jeff Lynne (ELO, Tom Petty, The Traveling Wilburys). Tori Amos also contributes vocals on the song I Wanna Get Back With You. Tom Jones appears on the Internet courtesy of the Kaleidospace Artist-in-Residence program, designed to introduce independently-minded high-profile artists and musicians to this new medium. Past A-i-Rs have included musicians Thomas Dolby (Giant), Dr. Fiorella Terenzi (Island/Voyager), Medicine (American Recordings) JACKOPIERCE (A&M), as well as SF writer David Brin and horror writer Clive Barker. In addition to displaying their own talent, A-i-Rs collaborate with the 200 independent artists and musicians on Kaleidospace, as well as the general Internet audience.
