INDIESPACE CEO JEANNIE NOVAK SELECTED AS CHAIRPERSON FOR THE INTERNET ENTERTAINMENT EXPO (12/5/2000)

LOS ANGELES/SANTA MONICA, CA

LOS ANGELES/SANTA MONICA, CA -- Indiespace founder & CEO Jeannie Novak is Conference Chairperson for the Internet Entertainment Expo (http://ieexpo2001.com), which will be held in Las Vegas March 19-22, 2001. The conference is presented by IDG World Expo (subsidary of IDG Data Group), a leading producer of trade shows including the Internet Commerce Expo (ICe) and Macworld.

As conference chairperson, Jeannie Novak oversees the conference program, which includes four tracks: entertainment content creation, infrastructure, marketing, and business/commerce. She is also responsible for securing keynote speakers such as Stan Lee (Founder, Chairman, and Chief Creative Officer of Stan Lee Media and creator of classic comic characters including Spider Man, X-Men and the Incredible Hulk).

"We’re excited at the prospect of working with Jeannie Novak,” said Rob Scheschareg (Vice President of Events, IDG World Expo). “Not only does she complement the show with a wealth of relevant experience, Jeannie is also well connected and extremely knowledgeable in the world of online entertainment. She understands first-hand the needs and issues of those looking to deliver entertainment content over the Internet.  We are looking forward to her efforts to help us launch IEX, where we will be providing real answers and solutions to entertainment content creators, aggregators, distributors and websites that other conference programs and events are not currently providing to the market."

"I'm thrilled to be involved with this conference," said Novak, "especially since it's the first of its kind that combines both the traditional (music, film, publishing, performance and art) and emerging web-based entertainment industries. Professionals from all areas of the arts and entertainment industry will benefit from attending. It's going to be informative, educational -- and highly entertaining!"

In addition to being CEO of Indiespace, Jeannie Novak has a diverse entertainment and technology background. An independent recording artist, music supervisor, and film composer, Novak released a "cinematic classical" solo piano CD (REIGN OF FIRE) and has supervised or composed music for over 20 independent features and shorts. An expert on Internet-based entertainment and marketing, Jeannie has also authored three nationally-distributed books on the topic - CREATING INTERNET ENTERTAINMENT, INTERNET WORLD GUIDE TO MAINTAINING & UPDATING DYNAMIC WEB SITES and WEB DEVELOPER.COM GUIDE TO PRODUCING LIVE WEBCASTS. She was chosen as one of the 100 most influential people in high-tech by MicroTimes magazine, and her success at marketing arts and entertainment online has been profiled by CNN, BILLBOARD MAGAZINE, DAILY VARIETY and the LA TIMES. Novak was recently featured on the cover of THE ZONE NEWS and MY BUSINESS MAGAZINE. Before founding Indiespace, she worked at A&M Records, MGM/UA, and Genuity. Novak graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA with a degree in Communication Studies (with emphasis on Business Administration).
