Santa Monica, CA - Indiespace.com, the flagship
website of Kaleidospace LLC (a leading web hosting service and
distributor of independent arts and entertainment since January
1994), announces that a film featured on its site, Extraordinary
Visitor, has won a premiere screening at the Laemmle Music
Hall Theatre in Beverly Hills. Nova Pictures, the film’s
distribution company, was given the chance to premiere the film
after winning the Audience Award at the Dances With Films
Independent Film Festival.
As a sponsor of Dances With Films, Indiespace.com offered Nova
Pictures the opportunity to join the site’s growing number of
independent filmmakers who promote and sell their films online
through Indiespace’s artist and consumer-friendly system.
Members of Indiespace.com can target their works to consumers
specifically interested in independent film -- without
competition from big-budget titles like those found on other
Internet film sites. Each
filmmaker working with Indiespace receives a complete website,
descriptive content, cast and crew profiles, screening dates,
downloadable video clips, and secure online ordering for video
product.
Online
promotion by independent filmmakers has been increasing steadily
since 1998. “The
Internet has revolutionized the marketing of independent
films,” said Nova Pictures’ Peter Barnett,
“and it is critical to a small film’s success.”
A huge advantage to an Internet marketing strategy is the
fact that an online “buzz” can be created at a fraction of
the cost of traditional mass media promotion.
An edgy commentary on the
approaching millennium, Extraordinary
Visitor provides
a sharp and funny scenario of mankind’s approaching doom. As
this century comes to a close, God’s patience with humanity
has run out. The only chance for humanity’s survival rests
with John the Baptist, who has seven days to find signs of hope
that humanity is worth saving.
Extraordinary
Visitor won the Best Foreign Film award at River Run Film
Festival and Best Direction, Best Writing, Best Actor and Actress at The Atlantic Film Festival.
The cast includes Mary Walsh, Andy Jones and Raoul Bhaneja. An
East Films production, Extraordinary
Visitor was directed and written by John W. Doyle and
produced by Jennice Ripley and Paul Pope.
The film’s run begins over Thanksgiving weekend on Friday,
November 26th and ends Thursday, December 2nd.
Show times are 5:20pm, 7:30pm, and 9:40pm.
