LOS ANGELES, CA - Kaleidospace, the recognized leader in promotion and distribution of independent art and music over the Internet, is launching an environmental service called Ecospace. Debuting on the World-Wide Web at ECOSPACE on Earth Day (April 22, 1996), the Ecospace site features a circular motif in keeping with the central unity of our common environment. In the center of the circle, a virtual tree will grow over the next year, culminating on Earth Day 1997. The tree links to environmentally-conscious art, music, videos, entertainment, environmental organizations, and environmentally-responsible consumer products.

A key feature of Ecospace is the direct immediate value that the majority of its products and services provide to the environment. Many artists and companies promoted through Ecospace contribute a portion of their sales to environmentally-related nonprofit organizations. In addition to products, Ecospace provides interactive environmental consulting on topics such as energy conservation, nutrition and biological diversity. A chat room devoted to environmental discussion will also be available.

At its launch, Ecospace will feature musicians from Bay Area-based IN Music. A member of Business for Social Responsibility, IN Music donates 51% of its gross annual profit to rainforest and other environmental groups. All of IN Music's products are original and reflect the best of World, Alternative, Classical, Contemporary Instrumental, Jazz and Pop. Purchase of IN Music's products directly helps to establish conservation zones throughout the tropics.

Ecospace hopes to define a space on the Internet where visitors can educate themselves about environmental issues, purchase art and music while directly aiding the environment, and join environmentally responsible groups.
