Sponsorship services provided by Indiespace include web hosting for the burbankfilm.com web site (currently receiving over 1,700 visitors per day), online promotional web sites for all festival participants, digitization of winners in the festival’s unique For Children By Children film contest. Indiespace CEO Jeannie Novak will also moderate the Digital Filmmaking Revolution panel (Thurs, 10/19 1-3pm; 2nd level of mall, near Bath & Body Works) and is coordinating live entertainment for some BICFF events during closing night (Thurs, 6-8pm: Wind in the Willows performance) and the awards ceremony (Fri, 6:30-8pm: Segovia Chamber Players). BICFF co-director Suzanne Shoemaker, says: "The Internet has been a marvel. It's great to have one place for current information on the festival. As we see Indiespace and the Internet growing, we see a whole new range of opportunities for providing educational interactions between film professionals and kids who are learning how to tell their stories." Indiespace founder and CEO says: "We're particularly impressed by BICFF's mission to promote quality independent films for and about children – and we're excited about the entries that have been produced by children themselves." Recent studies of the movie industry's basic business model by economics professor Arthur De Vany at UC Irvine question the film industry's propensity for R-rated films and concluded that G, PG, and PG-13 movies all generate better revenues and profits while keeping costs down. BICFF will provide independent filmmakers, animators and film-related professionals with a forum, a market and a showplace supporting, and acknowledging excellence in children's film. BICFF is happening right now at Media City Center, Burbank, California, located just off I-5 at Burbank Blvd. Interested parties may download a ticket purchase form from the burbankfilm.com website. For more information, call BICFF at 818-841-3901. The festival address is 201 E. Magnolia Boulevard, Suite 151 Burbank, CA 91501. Individual screenings are $4-5.000, and a VIP pass to all screenings and workshops during the 7-day festival is $400.00.
